| Our bike fitting
service is a scientific approach to getting you riding your bike
comfortably. Every cyclist looks for the optimal position
on their bicycle which, until now, has been determined by a number of
"rules of thumb" and instinctive feeling.
While all very nice, these
do not respond to the demands of a highly technical modern bicycle. For the job
to be done correctly, a bicycle should fit as if made-to-measure.
To ensure that you are fitted correctly fitted
we have invested in training for our staff at the Serotta International Cycling
Institute to ensure that our bike fitting service is using the latest
techniques to ensure both power and comfort for you on your
bike. |

We
believe an essential part of buying a new bike
is getting the correct size
and fit. Get it right and you
will be free from backache and knee pain, you will be able to ride faster
and further.
The bike fitting service will take approximately two hours.

Preliminaries.
Short
interview to determine any existing problems you are experiencing on your
bike, riding
goals and aspirations.
Measurements taken from your bike, which pedals, bars, stem, handlebars,
seatpost and saddle you are using.

Stage 1. The Feet.
The bike fitting starts at the bottom and work up. The
feet are examined and checked for pronation/supination and if
Wedges or footbeds are needed.

Stage 2. The Jig
next you are on the
bikefitting jig for a short
warm up to get the muscles working and you flexing. Again we start at the
bottom and work upwards. Cleat are checked for alignment. The saddle
height is set for maximum efficiency and your knee alignment is checked.
Your
core body strength is determined and is used to set your upper body
position. Arm extension and elbow bend is measured and checked for
comfort.

Stage 3. The Results
At the
end of all this we have a template of measurements taken from the bike
fitting jig, which we can use to
either determine which off the peg frame will suit you, what measurements
you will need for a custom built frame, or a guide for setting up your
existing bike.
If your bike can be adjusted to your new position then if possible we will
make any changes during the fitting.

service is free of charge if you are buying the bike from us)
